Cinnamon Peak is an unofficially named summit in the Eldorado alpine area north of Bridge River. Andrea and I just so happened to set up our camp for the week a mere 400m from the top. We had skied into the area two days prior and the day before ascended up Nea Peak. It was now our last day in the alpine and our main goal for the day was an ascent up Evola Peak, across the valley. However, while looking through maps I saw that Cinnamon Peak was directly above us and would make for an awesome long ski run towards Evola. Andrea’s eye’s lit up at the idea of an extra long ski run and so after breakfast on Monday morning we started our skin up.

There was an old skin track most of the way up, so we followed that until 50m below the summit and then made a steep traverse on crusty snow to gain the top. Finally, on the third day we had unlimited views of the area and we could see all the way down to Mount Sloan, the Dickson Range, Bendor Range and so much more. After taking in the views we leap frogged down the slopes skiing on nice dry powder all the way to the meadows far below our camp.

Now it’s time to head up to Evola Peak!
