After reaching the top of South Lynn Peak, Laura, Mike and I continued on the trail towards Lynn Peak. At this point, the amount of foot prints thinned out considerably and you could see that Lynn Peak wasn’t getting anywhere near the amount of attention, in the Winter, that South Lynn Peak was. Nonetheless, there were some tracks and so we just went on auto-pilot mode following them along the ridge line.
There’s some elevation loss to reach Lynn Peak, but overall it’s negligible. The route weaved through the snowy forest and was uneventful except for the occasional post-hole. By 10:45am or so, we made it to the snowy pitch below Lynn Peak. There were two options up: one steep snow line that detoured in between bluffs and a tamer approach that went around the bluffs and was just a walk up. I opted for the “adventure line” while Mike and Laura took the standard trail up. We met up 2 minutes later at the top and paused for some food and water in the sun.
Again, there weren’t any views at this summit either so we carried on towards South Needle.
